💨 Abstract
In Punjab, police and excise officials seized 600 litres of poisonous methanol suspected to be linked to a recent spurious liquor tragedy in Amritsar, which resulted in 21 deaths. Acting on intelligence, they intercepted a truck carrying the methanol near Tepla. Investigations suggest the methanol was destined for the production of illicit liquor. Ten suspects were arrested, and two police officials were suspended. Further inquiries are ongoing to prevent future incidents.
