💨 Abstract
Nine men, including a former AIADMK functionary, were sentenced to life imprisonment for the Pollachi sexual assault and extortion case. The Coimbatore Mahila Court also ordered a compensation of Rs 85 lakh for the victims. Both Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and the opposition AIADMK welcomed the verdict. Stalin criticized those who attempted to protect the guilty within AIADMK. The AIADMK praised its former government for transferring the case to the CBI.
