💨 Abstract
Tanzanian police arrested Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi and Ugandan lawyer Agather Atuhaire, who traveled to Dar es Salaam to observe the treason trial of opposition leader Tundu Lissu. Lissu, who was shot in 2017 and challenged the presidency, is accused of inciting rebellion. President Samia Suluhu Hassan's government warned against foreign interference amidst a rising crackdown on opponents.
