💨 Abstract
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported on Tuesday that circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (cVDPV2) was found in stool samples of two healthy children in Papua New Guinea on May 9. WHO emphasized that the detection of any poliovirus, even in healthy children, is a serious public health concern. The detection of cVDPV2 has been classified as a "polio outbreak."
