💨 Abstract
The Good Hope Centre in Cape Town, once a prominent convention venue, has fallen into disrepair. However, ambitious redevelopment plans aim to revitalize the area. The City of Cape Town will auction the property in early 2026, with a focus on preserving its heritage while creating jobs and attracting investment. Adjacent to the centre is a 2.4-hectare site with potential for residential, commercial, and retail development.
