💨 Abstract
The introduction of camera traps in Simon’s Town is significantly boosting conservation efforts for South Africa’s critically endangered African penguins. These traps, funded by the Lomas Wildlife Protection Trust, will help monitor predator activity, protect nests, study breeding habits, and detect issues early. This initiative, supported by Nature Connect, SANParks, and the City of Cape Town, aims to gather crucial data to guide conservation strategies and engage the public in protecting the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
