💨 Abstract
Dignity South Africa has filed a High Court application to legalize medically-assisted euthanasia in South Africa. The NPO argues that current laws criminalizing medical assistance in dying are unconstitutional, infringing on rights such as human dignity, equality, and bodily autonomy. They have also launched a public petition urging Parliament to enact legislation within 24 months, providing clear eligibility criteria and safeguards.
