đź’¨ Abstract
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) has added several West African words, including 'nyash' and 'abeg' from Nigeria, to its lexicon. This update reflects the growing global influence of African languages on English. The OED also introduced new pronunciation models for various English dialects, including Maltese English, and revised over 1,000 existing entries. Other West African words added include 'amala,' 'Ghana must go,' and 'Moi Moi.'
