đź’¨ Abstract
The Western Cape Government has suspended multiple minibus taxi routes in areas like Mfuleni, Khayelitsha, and Somerset West for 30 days to curb recent violent conflicts. The suspension, effective from September 17, 2025, aims to protect commuters and restore order following deadly incidents between rival taxi associations. The government has arranged additional transport and increased law enforcement to ensure compliance.
