đź’¨ Abstract
Zimbabweans in South Africa holding the Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP) can now apply for permanent residence. Deputy Home Affairs Minister Njabulo Nzuza confirmed this policy shift, allowing ZEP holders to explore legal pathways for permanent residency. The ZEP, introduced in 2009, was a temporary measure for Zimbabweans fleeing economic collapse. Applications will be assessed individually, and the ZEP has been extended until May 28, 2027.
