💨 Abstract
On October 27, a South African Airways (SAA) flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg encountered severe turbulence, injuring four cabin crew members. The Airbus A330-300, cruising at 41,000 feet, hit clear-air turbulence, which is invisible and unpredictable. The co-pilot switched off the autopilot, contrary to Airbus guidelines, attempting manual control.
