A mass shooting at the KwaNoxolo Tavern in Bekkersdal, Gauteng, left nine dead and ten injured. Witnesses reported that armed suspects in a minibus and sedan opened fire indiscriminately before fleeing. The community, which has experienced recurring violence, is calling for increased police presence and investigations into alleged police-criminal collusion. Police are following leads and using forensic evidence to track the suspects. The motive remains unknown.
