đź’¨ Abstract
The EFF's attempt to block a 4% fuel levy increase was rejected by the Western Cape High Court. The EFF claimed the hike, set to take effect on June 4, 2025, unfairly burdens the working class and poor, worsens inequality, and violates constitutional rights. The party also argued that the increase should not precede the standing committee on finance's approval on the same day.
