đź’¨ Abstract
In KwaZulu-Natal, 76 special needs schools are on the verge of collapse due to months of unpaid government subsidies. These schools, which cater to children with disabilities, are struggling to provide essential services like food, therapy, transport, and safe learning environments. Parents, in desperation, are shutting down these institutions, highlighting a broader issue of eroding rights to dignity, safety, and quality education for these vulnerable learners.
