💨 Abstract
President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced South Africa's response to the U.S.'s 30% tariffs on certain exports, stressing the need for resilience and adaptation. The tariffs, aimed at protecting American industries, will significantly impact South Africa's agricultural, automotive, and textile sectors. In response, the government launched the Export Support Desk to assist affected producers and explore new markets. Ramaphosa plans to intensify trade missions and diversify export markets, particularly within Africa.
