💨 Abstract
Two experienced sailors, an Australian woman and a French man, were found dead on their yacht near Madagascar, close to South Africa’s coast. They had issued a distress signal before being discovered. Authorities suspect piracy, though it hasn’t been confirmed. The Mozambique Channel, where the incident occurred, is known for dangerous conditions and piracy. The Australian sailor, Deirdre "Cookie" Sibly, was described as an adventurous soul. The investigation is ongoing.
