đź’¨ Abstract
A fatal shack fire in Nigel, Ekurhuleni, on Sunday morning killed a toddler and an adult, while an eight-year-old sustained minor burns. The fire, likely caused by a heating device, broke out before dawn, and emergancy services responded to extinguish it. Officials have urged caution with heating and lighting appliances during winter, as unsafe methods and illegal electricity connections often lead to such incidents in Gauteng.
