đź’¨ Abstract
The University of Cape Town (UCT) has renamed its iconic Jameson Memorial Hall to Sarah Baartman Hall, honoring Sarah Baartman, a Khoi woman whose life symbolizes resilience against injustice. The ceremony, attended by UCT staff and stakeholders, aligned with South Africa's Heritage Month and the university's efforts to promote inclusivity. The decision followed consultations and was inspired by the #RhodesMustFall movement. The renaming aims to confront historical injustices and promote healing and justice.
