An American tourist, Christopher Erick Gibbs Daniel, 48, from Arizona, was found dead after falling into the Victoria Falls gorge. He was reported missing on January 7 after failing to return from a visit to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. A joint recovery effort by Zimbabwean and Zambian authorities found his body wedged between rocks. The incident highlights the dangers of the gorge, which attracts many tourists but requires extreme caution due to slippery surfaces and steep drops.
