💨 Abstract
A study has linked non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), affecting 20% of Brits, to an increased risk of early-onset bowel cancer. NAFLD, often symptomless, can cause inflammation that may damage bowel cells and lead to cancer. People under 50 with NAFLD have a higher risk. The study also found higher risk in men who have NAFLD. Experts recommend early screening for those with NAFLD to help detect bowel cancer early.
