💨 Abstract
On May 24, 2024, 19-year-old Louisa Tunstall inhaled nitrous oxide (laughing gas) while driving in Wigan, East Lancashire. Moments later, she crashed into a 51-year-old pedestrian, leaving the woman with severe, life-changing injuries. Footage showed Tunstall inhaling the drug from a balloon. Despite her claims that she looked away briefly, a forensic investigation confirmed the drug impaired her driving.
