💨 Abstract
A 15-month-old baby, KJ Muldoon, became the first to have his DNA rewritten to treat a deadly genetic disorder called CPS1 deficiency, which affects the liver's ability to process ammonia. KJ was diagnosed days after birth and faced a high risk of brain damage or death. Traditional treatment, a liver transplant, was not suitable due to his age and health.
