Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman was pulled from Friday's game against the New York Yankees due to left abdominal tightness, discovered during batting practice. Trainer Scott Barringer recommended his removal. Jackson Holliday replaced Rutschman as the designated hitter and batted leadoff. Rutschman, the top 2019 draft pick, is hitting .227 this season. He has shown recent improvement, batting .309
