đź’¨ Abstract
The Federation of State Humanities Councils and Oregon Council for the Humanities have sued Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to restore funding cuts mandated by Congress. The lawsuit, filed in Portland, Oregon, alleges that DOGE and NEH overstepped their authority by terminating grants and laying off 80% of NEH staff.
