💨 Abstract
In response to escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, the U.S. State Department is evacuating nonessential diplomats and their families from the U.S. embassy in Israel. A government plane evacuated some personnel before Ambassador Mike Huckabee announced plans for further evacuation flights and ships for U.S. citizens. This evacuation is part of the embassy's "authorized departure" status, allowing eligible staff to leave at government expense.
