💨 Abstract
Karen Read was found guilty of drunken driving, while being acquitted of more severe charges, including manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident, in a case where her boyfriend, who was also an off-duty police officer, died. Read will serve a year of probation. The verdict came after nearly eight weeks of testimony and nearly a year after the first trial ended in a hung jury. This is a developing story.
