The article reports on the sacred harvest of saguaro cactus fruits by the Tohono O’odham Nation in Arizona, which happens in June and July, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual significance. The saguaro, a towering cactus, is a crucial part of O’odham creation stories and traditions. The fruit, once harvested, is boiled into syrup and fermented to make wine for annual ceremonies that mark the new year.
