💨 Abstract
Starting Sunday, Maryland will waive the 6% sales tax on clothing under $100, backpacks up to $40, and qualifying Energy Star products. This initiative is to help residents cope with rising costs. Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman encourages shopping locally during this tax-free period. Virginia's tax-free holiday concluded on August 3, and D.C. no longer observes tax holidays in August and November.
