💨 Abstract

On May 25, 2025, events in Minneapolis and Houston commemorate the fifth anniversary of George Floyd's murder. Activities include concerts, vigils, and memorial services. Activists express frustration over the slow pace of police reform and a perceived backlash from the Trump administration, which has moved to cancel police overhauls and end diversity initiatives. Despite promises from Minneapolis officials, progress is seen as inadequate by some activists.
