💨 Abstract
A Michigan judge struck down the state's 24-hour waiting period for abortions, ruling it conflicts with a voter-approved constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights approved in 2022. Judge Sima Patel also overturned regulations requiring fetal development charts and information about alternatives, and a provision limiting abortion providers to only physicians. The lawsuit was filed by Northland Family Planning Centers and Medical Students for Choice, with Michigan's attorney general and health director agreeing the regulations were unconstitutional.
