đź’¨ Abstract
Microsoft is laying off nearly 3% of its workforce, approximately 6,000 employees, across all levels and regions, with a focus on reducing management positions. This is the company's largest layoff since early 2023, following a previous round in January. The cuts come despite Microsoft reporting strong sales and profits in the January-March quarter, amidst a challenging time for the tech sector and U.S. economy.
