💨 Abstract
Two rockets were fired from Syria into the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, the first since the fall of former Syrian President Bashar Assad. Israel retaliated with airstrikes in Syria's Daraa province. A new group, the Mohammed Deif Brigades, claimed responsibility. Israel's Defense Minister warned of a "full response." Syria denied launching the rockets and condemned Israeli shelling. The U.S. is pushing for Syria to normalize relations with Israel.
