💨 Abstract
Idan Alexander, an American-Israeli soldier and the last known American hostage held in Gaza, returned home to Tenafly, New Jersey. Hundreds of supporters welcomed him, with many holding signs and Israeli flags. Released by Hamas after 584 days, Alexander was just 19 when he was captured during an attack on his base in Israel. The community of Tenafly, with a large Jewish and Israeli-American population, had shown significant support and held awareness events.
