💨 Abstract

The Senegalese women’s basketball team canceled their U.S. training plans for the AfroBasket tournament after visa denials for several players and officials. Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko announced they will train in Dakar instead. The denials occurred amidst the Trump administration's travel vetting push. Senegal, a strong contender with 11 AfroBasket titles, will now prepare domestically for the tournament, which determines Africa's representative for the FIBA World Cup.
