💨 Abstract
A federal appeals court in Alabama ruled that prosecutors violated the constitutional rights of Michael Sockwell, sentenced to death in 1990, by systematically rejecting Black jurors based on race. The 2-1 ruling by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals means Sockwell, 62, is eligible for a retrial.
