💨 Abstract
Southern California Edison has established a fund to compensate victims of the January Eaton Fire in Altadena, which destroyed over 9,400 homes and killed 19 people. The utility, potentially acknowledging its role in sparking the fire, will offer expedited claim resolutions, aiming to mitigate lengthy litigation for the community. The compensation program, operational this fall, covers property losses, injuries, and familial losses.
