💨 Abstract
Demolition of the remaining sections of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed in 2024, is underway using heavy machinery. The bridge's collapse, caused by a container ship, resulted in six fatalities. Governor Wes Moore praised the ongoing efforts, emphasizing speed, safety, and fiscal responsibility. The replacement bridge, expected in 2028, will feature modern designs and better protection. Current demolition, focusing on recycling materials, is set to take about nine months.
