💨 Abstract

A federal judge has halted Trump administration layoffs at the U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS), ruling the mass firings likely unlawful. Judge Melissa DuBose granted a preliminary injunction, preventing HHS from finalizing 10,000 layoffs in four divisions. The ruling comes after attorneys general from 19 states and D.C. argued the cuts were arbitrary, harmed essential programs, and burdens states.
