💨 Abstract
Hurricane Erin, the first of 2025 in the Atlantic, was downgraded to a Category 3 storm. It previously reached Category 5 status with winds of 125 mph. The storm is moving west-northwest, affecting Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands with heavy rain and swells. A tropical storm warning was issued for the Turks and Caicos Islands, and a watch for the Southeast Bahamas.
