đź’¨ Abstract
A system outage at United Airlines caused over 1,000 flight delays and cancellations Wednesday. The issue with the Unimatic system, which handles flight information and related data, was resolved late Wednesday, but delays persisted into Thursday. Delays continued due to residual issues. A significant portion of flights in Chicago and other major U.S. airports were halted. United is working to offset costs for affected customers and restore normal operations. The FAA is assisting in recovery efforts.
