💨 Abstract
Starting August 13, 2025, YouTube will use AI to estimate user ages to block minors from inappropriate content. This feature, currently in limited U.S. testing, will restrict access based on activity rather than provided birth dates. Identified minors will face content restrictions and adjusted recommendations. Misidentified adults can verify their age with ID or a selfie, sparking privacy concerns.
