💨 Abstract

During a prime-time speech from the White House, former U.S. President Donald Trump made several false claims. He inaccurately stated that inflation had stopped, when the latest annual rate was 3% in September. He also falsely claimed that inflation was at its worst in 48 years when he took office, but the rate was 2.9% in December 2024 under Biden. Trump exaggerated the drop in food prices and the reduction in prescription drug prices.
