💨 Abstract

Five days after a massive search, police identified Claudio Neves Valente, a 48-year-old Portuguese citizen and former Brown University student, as the suspect in a university shooting and the murder of a MIT professor. Valente, who had no criminal record in the U.S., was found dead in a New Hampshire warehouse. Investigators believe he acted alone and targeted the MIT professor, Nuno Loureiro, whom he knew from their time at the same school in Lisbon.
