💨 Abstract

The signing of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement, after over 25 years of negotiations, has been postponed until January. Italy requested more time, leading to insufficient support within the EU. President von der Leyen of the EU Commission stated that the signing is only slightly delayed. Brazil's President Lula da Silva had initially insisted on signing in December but will now consult with Mercosur partners.
