💨 Abstract

Later tonight, the almost-full Sturgeon Moon will rise in the southeast, potentially displaying a yellow-orange hue due to its low position and haze from wildfire smoke. Peak fullness occurs tomorrow morning. The moon's rise and set offer a chance to experience the "moon illusion." Additionally, Jupiter and Venus will appear close in the early morning sky, converging on August 12. Perseid meteors are also visible nightly.
