Los Angeles FC will face Mexico's América on in a Club World Cup qualification playoff. The May 31 match at BMO Stadium in LA will determine which team joins Chelsea (Atlanta), Esperance (Tunisia, Nashville), and Flamengo (Brazil, Orlando) in the group stages, starting June 14. This game is necessary because León was removed for competing against another team from the same ownership group, Pachuca. The winner of the playoff will receive an initial $9.
