💨 Abstract
Shohei Ohtani is progressing towards his first pitching appearance for the Los Angeles Dodgers, possibly before the All-Star break. His recent simulated game showed impressive fastball and sweeper pitches. Ohtani, recovering from elbow surgery, hasn't pitched since August 2023. The Dodgers, despite several pitcher injuries, are cautious about his return to ensure his health. Ohtani has been a standout designated hitter, winning his third MVP in 2024.
