The New York Mets reinstated designated hitter Starling Marte from the 10-day injured list, ending his two-week absence due to a bruised right knee. Marte returns with a .270 batting average and four home runs in 58 games this season. The Mets also recalled Justin Garza and added Rico Garcia to their bullpen, having claimed Garcia from the Yankees.
