New York Yankees pitcher Luis Gil, recovering from a lat strain, made a rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He faced Rochester, allowing four hits, five runs, walks to three, and struck out four in 3 1/3 innings. He threw 67 pitches, with 44 strikes. Gil, the 2024 AL Rookie of the Year, is progressing and could soon return to the majors.
