💨 Abstract
In Nairobi's Mathare slum, former gang members like Joseph Kariaga transformed their lives after personal tragedies. They founded Vision Bearerz in 2017 to combat crime and food insecurity. Despite challenges, they run an urban farm, feed over 150 children weekly, and offer community outreach. Their work highlights the potential of locally-led initiatives in addressing community needs, especially as foreign aid decreases.
